Customer story
Taking the consent SDK tax off Paramount's engineering budget
After migrating from OneTrust to Ketch, we went 18 months without a single SDK update. Roughly 95% of what used to require an SDK release got handled through Ketch configuration instead. That's the number I'd put in front of any engineering team evaluating a CMP: not a percentage improvement, but an absence.
Challenge
Every CMP SDK update cost a two-week engineering sprint. At 3 billion consent transactions a year, that tax repeats with every IAB revision, every new state law, every browser policy — privacy as a standing drain on the product roadmap.
Solution
Paramount moved consent behavior into Ketch's server-side configuration. Framework updates, signal changes, and policy logic happen on the Ketch side, so the application does not need a new SDK release every time the rules change.
Result
Eighteen months with zero SDK updates. Roughly 95% of former SDK releases became configuration. Engineering time went back to the product instead of maintaining consent.
