The discovery mechanism works by authenticating against the connected Salesforce org, automatically detecting the latest available API version, retrieving the full list of queryable objects, and then calling a describe endpoint against each one to pull field-level metadata: field name, label, data type, and other properties. If a particular object returns a permission error during discovery, that object is skipped and discovery continues across the rest, rather than the whole process failing.Once discovery completes, Ketch can generate privacy findings directly from what it discovers, for example, flagging systems with personal data that aren't yet covered by a DSR workflow, or objects processing data without consent syndication in place.
